There are Five basic engine types:
1) Piston- Gasoline, Diesel
2) Turbines- Jet and Turbo Props
3) Electric- Fuel Cell/Battery only
4) Hybrids- Electric, Air, Hydraulic
5) New Engine Type (NET)
This New Engine type tech can use over 10 fuels, as well as hot water and even electricity (thermal). The electricity and hot water modes allow the engine to run in closed spaces, such as inside a house or garage without combustion emissions or exhaust capture.
A closed cycle mode can capture ALL the exhaust (zero emissions) and compress it for storage in tanks on the car. The exhaust is then off loaded to building storage tanks for processing into to fuels via solar power and fuel makers. All of the emissions are captured and turned into fuels. No NOx, HC, CO or CO2 are then left after processing. CO2 alone can be captures for longer range.
This New Engine Type technology can convert solar thermal panel hot water into electricity for stand alone or grid apps, as well as use fuels at 60-75% efficiency when solar is not available. This duel use of the engine is key to solving energy due to costs and simplicity.
Compared to old Gasoline piston engines, this New Engine Type tech uses 3-15 times less fuel per torque.

This New Engine Type technology in an old IC car as a replacement would be on average 6-8 times less fuel use than the old IC engine in the same car. (120-160 mpg vs 20 mpg in combined cycle driving, for example.).
This New Engine Type tech in an EV (replace battery and electric motors in same car body) would be typically 1.5 times better energy economy (mpg or mpge) than an EV version of the same car. A 134 mpge combined EV would be ~200 mpg with New Engine Type tech with same body without active drag reduction. With Active Drag Reduction tech enable by engine, the 1.5 figure turns into 2. 134 mpg x 2 = 268 mpg. This requires a new car design to achieve such high MPG.
Time is money! It takes 600 times less time filling up with fuel than charging a Battery EV with electricity, per distance, at 50 kw. Car fueling is like charging at 20,220 kw, not 50 kw and the range/energy is 1.5 x due to no drive battery weight and structure.
(Do the math! 10 gal/min x 33.7 kwh/gal x 60 min=20,220 kw... 20k/50 x 1.5=600 times longer charging time per distance!)
If time equals money, then what is your time worth? 600 times less? An EV says your time is "worth less" than someone's time who has this New Engine Type tech.
A typical New Engine Type car would have a range of 10,000 mile on the HWY using pure gasoline (not ethanol) as a standard. This allows many fuels (some listed) with various ranges as follows:
9700 > Gasohol with 10% Ethanol 85 octane
7400 > Propane
7000 > Ethanol
4560 > Methanol
3362 > NH3 (Ammonia)
1315 > CNG (Methane) at 1800 psi
1000 > Ammonia hydroxide (NH4-OH 30%)
500 > Zero emissions (all Carbon fuels)
236 > H2 at 1800 psi
This New Engine Type changes everything in power for:
cars, trucks, airplanes, boats, heavy equipment, real estate, water processing, Renewable Energy and Grid electricity.
It is the first truly stand alone system that does not need a grid connection that can compete with a low cost coal grid in price. Nothing comes close in total performance.
This New Engine Type tech can also use Solar Thermal hot water to make power from Solar Thermal panels, allowing 100% renewable energy electricity from house/building.
This electricity can then make fuels that are stored in inexpensive tanks for later use in the engine, eliminating the need for battery storage.
Fuel storage in fuel tanks is over 10,000 times cheaper than battery storage. This allows seasonal storage of energy to bridge supply during times when RE does not work.
Fuels made from electricity, water and CO2/N2 IS the "battery" for later use in engine via combustion. Oil based fuels can also be used as needed. Natural Gas from house can be used instead of grid electricity, giving combined heat and power with low cost Gas (80 cents/GGE).
The idea is to make fuels in Spring, Summer and Fall, and use them in Winter, and during the year when no solar occurs (night) for 100% renewable energy without interruptions, These fuel can also be used in cars, trucks, boats, airplanes and wherever needed.
Solar Thermal can capture 6.6 kw/unit area total vs PV at 1 kw per unit area. Compared to a battery, with loses of 20%, this makes solar thermal over 8 times better (6.6/0.8=8.25) than with solar PV in capturing energy.
The New Engine type coupled with solar thermal then can make electricity at about the same ratio as a solar PV panel would make, yet still have the extra 5.6 kw of heat to use where needed.
ROI in house applications is around 16-22% compared to PV panels at 1-2% at best.
In Trucks the ROI can be 100-200% depending on the miles driven. This ROI allows self funding once the engine is approved for Truck use, key to financing all other projects.

Yes 100% RE is possible with fuels and this NET tech, but 100% RE is NOT possible with wind/solar PV/Battery/EV tech.

This is simple to understand, yet the Green New Deal FAILS to include fuel making and the need for fuels to bridge seasons.
With New Engine Type technology, the cost of electricity would be around 2 cents/kwh during the day and during the night when there is thermal storage. Costs would be around 6 cents/kwh during the night when you use fuel after thermal storage is used up.
Notice the cost of generation is 50% of utility. By generating it yourself, you save 50-75%. This allows fuel to be made for less3 cents/kwh or $1/gal gasoline equivalent of energy that can be used in car, cutting fuel bills.
Whatever side of the debate you are on about CO2, New Engine Type tech has the solution for you. You can capture 100% of the CO2 and recycle the CO2 by making fuels from solar power. Or you can use Nitrogen fuels to be zero CO2.
If you don't buy into the hype, then you can run the car open cycle like an old IC, but clean. Or you can capture the CO2 and use it in your garden as fertilizer. Plants will love you...
